"Serrats" is located in Bermeo, in the Coast of the Bay of Biscay (Spain). During 120 years we have been dedicated to the art of the production of canned fish. Our preserves have an exceptional quality and they are elaborated by only using the finest raw materials, fresh fish of the finest quality and specially selected. The handmade preparation of the preserves, transmitted and improved over five generations, is one of the keys of our success. Our Know-How, coupled with the strict quality control system, enables us to meet the requirements of the cross-border and national markets.
Wakame Seaweeds (RO180)
Wakame Seaweeds are packaged in glass jars of 180gr.(net weight). They are presented in water, salt and lemon, so that the consumers have a great array of possibilities to cook them.
Wakame Seaweeds (Undaria Pinnatifida) originated in Japan, can be tasted in soups (they are very tasty in millet soup), combined with vegetables (such as cucumber or sauteed with onions). They are also delicious in salads, paellas and scrambled with eggs.
Wakame Seaweeds contain a high level of calcium, vitamins B and C. It is held that they have remineralizing and detoxifying properties, though its high iodine content makes them unsuitable for people with thyroid problems. A recent research from Hokkaido University in Japan, says that a component of Wakame seaweed, the fucoxanthin, helps to reduce the fat levels.
The consumption of Seaweeds is very healthy. People do not gain weight and they provide minerals, fibre and its great amount of polyunsaturated fatty acids help keeping the body fit. They also provide vitamins, minerals, and easy digestible proteins. They are strongly recommended for people who suffer digestive or diabetic disorders and for vegetarian.
